DTN News: Brazilian Air Force Plane Preparing Search Of Air France Flight 447
(NSI News Source Info) June 2, 2009: A Brazilian Air Force radar plane manouvres at the Fernando de Noronha airport preparing for the search of the Air France flight 447 bound for Paris that plunged into the Atlantic on June 1, 2009 just a few hours after taking off on late May 31 from Rio de Janeiro.
A missing Air France passenger jet with 228 people on board suffered multiple technical failures before crashing into the Atlantic, the airline's chief executive Pierre-Henry Gourgeon said Monday.
Gourgeon added that military planes had narrowed down their search area to a zone of a few dozen nautical miles half-way between Brazil and west Africa.
