DTN News: Pakistan TODAY December 1, 2009 ~ At Least 61 Militants Killed In Khyber Tribal Region

(NSI News Source Info) ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - December 1, 2009: At least 61 militants were killed and 87 others, including locals, Uzbeks and Afghans, were arrested during the ongoing search operation in the Khyber tribal region, FC commandant Brigadier Fayyaz told a press conference.

Pakistani security forces are battling Taliban fighters and other militants group in rugged northwest regions bordering with Afghanistan. At the press conference in Bara tehsil, Brigadier Fayyaz said security forces cleared most parts of the tehsil and the current operation in the area was successful.
