CONTRACTS

TRICARE MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY

Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Bridgewater, N.J., is being awarded a fixed-price incentive contract to provide worldwide comprehensive dental care coverage to TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) beneficiaries, to include family members of uniformed service active duty personnel, and members of the selected reserve and individual ready reserve and their eligible family members. Over 1.9 million beneficiaries are currently enrolled in the TDP. The instant award will comprise a base year period for $7,049,314. The total potential contract value, including the 12-month transition-in base year and five one-year option periods for dental care delivery, plus a transition-out period, is estimated at $1,884,357,604. The work to be performed includes managing enrollment and member utilization of diagnostic and preventive services and managing provider networks, claims processing, customer service and access to data, while providing beneficiary satisfaction at the highest level possible through the delivery of world-class dental care. This contract was competitively procured via the TRICARE Management Activity e-solicitation website with five offers received. The TRICARE Management Activity, Aurora, Colo., is the contracting activity (HT9402-11-C-0001).

NAVY

General Electric Aviation, Lynn, Mass., is being awarded a $576,000,000 three-year performance-based logistics requirements contract for repair, replacement, and program support for F414 engine components used on F/A-18 E/F and EA-18G aircraft. Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Fla. (62 percent), and Lynn, Mass. (38 percent), and is expected to be completed by December 2013. Funding is provided by Navy Working Capital Funds. Contract funds will not expire before the end of the fiscal year. This contract was not competitively awarded. The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (N00383-11-D-001M).

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp., Groton, Conn., is being awarded a $151,962,977 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-09-C-2100) for continued engineering, technical services, concept studies, and design of a common missile compartment for the United Kingdom successor SSBN and the Ohio-class replacement SSBN. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn. (93 percent); Quonset, R.I. (3 percent); Newport News, Va. (2 percent); and Newport, R.I. (2 percent), and is expected to be completed by December 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Bethpage, N.Y., is being awarded an $18,258,983 modification under a previously awarded contract (N00024-06-C-6311) to provide engineering and production planning services for mission packages that will deploy from and integrate with the littoral combat ship. The Navy plans to continuously evaluate system maturity through a disciplined system engineering framework to improve mission capability in identified mission areas. The contractor shall perform a range of management, engineering and mission package assembly activities including program management functions to ensure effective cost, schedule and technical requirements are achieved. Work will be performed in Bethpage, N.Y. (47 percent); Washington, D.C. (26 percent); Panama City, Fla. (20 percent); Ventura, Calif. (6 percent); and Dahlgren, Va. (1 percent), and is expected to be completed by September 2011. Contract funds in the amount of $1,510,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Raytheon Co., Integrated Defense Systems, Tewksbury, Mass., is being awarded a $15,000,000 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-05-C-5346) to exercise an option for class services engineering efforts to facilitize for testing mission systems equipment, produce test documentation, conduct component and design level verification tests, and maintain related design and test class documentation for the DDG 1000 Zumwalt-class destroyer program. Work will be performed in Portsmouth, R.I. (40 percent); Moorestown, N.J. (26 percent); Sudbury, Mass. (12 percent); Tewksbury, Mass. (8 percent); San Diego, Calif. (6 percent); Marlborough, Mass. (3 percent); Minneapolis, Minn. (3 percent); and Largo, Fla. (2 percent), and is expected to be completed by September 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co., Sunnyvale, Calif., was awarded a $424,708,002 contract modification which will exercise the option for production of GEO Satellite 4. At this time, $75,000,000 has been obligated. Infrared Space Systems Directorate, Space and Missile System Center, El Segundo, Calif., is the contracting agency (FA8810-08-C-0002; P00017)

ARMY

Science Applications International Corp., Logistics & Engineering Solutions Business Unit, San Diego, Calif., was awarded on Jan. 4 a $71,870,363 firm-fixed-price contract. The award will provide for joint logistics integrator and operational readiness services for the Joint Program Office for the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle. Work will be performed in Kuwait; Afghanistan; Iraq; Qatar; Oman; and Sterling Heights, Mich., with an estimated completion date of Nov. 8, 2011. One bid was solicited with one bid received. The U.S. Army TACOM LCMC, Contracting Center, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-09-A-0003).

Remington Arms Co., Inc., Ilion, N.Y., was awarded on Jan. 5 a $8,914,609 firm-fixed-price contract. The award will provide for 1,212 M24 sniper rifles with bipods to the government of Afghanistan. Work will be performed in Ilion, N.Y., with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2014. One bid was solicited with one bid received. The U.S. Army TACOM LCMC, Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-11-D-0049).
