DTN News - BOEING DEFENSE NEWS: U. S. Air Force To Procure Five C-17 Globemaster
(NSI News Source Info) TORONTO, Canada - May 17, 2011: The U.S. Department of Defense issued/notification # 411 dated May 16, 2011 and awarded Boeing Co., Long Beach, Calif., $962,509,138 (FA8614-06-D-2006) for production of five C-17 aircraft related to U.S. Air Force.
U. S. Air Force has 203 total (70 C-17, 133 C-17ER) in inventory as of November 2010. 223 funded with 10 remaining on order in June 2010.
At this time, $471,629,477 has been obligated. ASC/WLMK, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8614-06-D-2006 DO 0006).
