(NSI News Source Info) WASHINGTON - June 10, 2011: U.S. Department of Defense, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public Affairs) Contracts issued June 10, 2011 are undermentioned;

CONTRACTS

NAVY

Navistar Defense, LLC, Warrenville, Ill., is being awarded a $357,112,582 firm-fixed-priced delivery order 0019 under previously awarded contract (M67854-07-D-5032) for the procurement of 471 MaxxPro Dash vehicles. The Dash vehicles sustain operations in limited mobility areas such as the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan and the wide-open deserts of Iraq. Work will be performed in West Point, Miss., and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin, Baltimore, Md., is being awarded an $80,174,040 firm-fixed-price contract for MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) electrical modules and related equipment. The MK 41 VLS provides a missile launching system for CG 47 and DDG 51 class surface combatants, allied Navy surface combatants, and Aegis Ashore requirements for Missile Defense Agency’s Ground Ballistic Missile Defense Program. It is the primary missile launching system aboard Navy combatants used to store, safe, inventory and launch missiles of various types. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $135,879,787. Work will be performed in Baltimore, Md. (29.5 percent); Ft Walton Beach, Fla. (18.8 percent); Moorestown, N.J. (11.6 percent); Lewisburg, Tenn. (10.1 percent); Johnstown, Pa. (9.2 percent); Owego, N.Y. (9.0 percent); Simpsonville, S.C. (5.5 percent); Clearwater, Fla. (3.2 percent); and Sterling Heights, Mich. (3.1 percent). Work is expected to be completed by June 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-11-C-5302).

Cape Henry Associates, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va., is being awarded a $13,825,893 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in support of Navy Training System Plan (NTSP) development, training front-end analysis, manpower and workload analysis, training development, personnel and job qualification requirements, development logistics support services and program management support services for shipboard hull, mechanical and electrical equipment. Work will be completed in Norfolk, Va. (75 percent), and Philadelphia, Pa. (25 percent), and is expected to be completed by June 2016. Contract funding in the amount of $112,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with one offer received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Ship System Engineering Station, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (N65540-11-D-0008).

AIR FORCE

Northrop Grumman System Corp., Defense Systems Division, Herndon, Va., is being awarded an $18,132,476 firm-fixed-price contract for the purchase of Global Express aircraft BD-700-1A10, serial number 9001, and the two aircraft engines currently installed on the aircraft. This aircraft has been modified to carry the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) payload. The aircraft and engines are provided by Northrop Grumman under sub-lease in support of overseas contingency operations under contract GA8726-09-C-0010. This contract also provides for the operation and maintenance of the BACN payload by Northrop Grumman and for the maintenance of the leased aircraft. Purchase of this aircraft by the government will allow for extension of operations on a more economic basis. ESC/HNAA, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., is the contracting activity (FA8307-11-C-0009).

Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Simulator, Training and Support, Orlando, Fla., is modifying a firm-fixed-price contract in the amount of $7,884,926 for the C-130J Maintenance and Aircrew Training System Block 7.0 upgrade. The location of performance is Tampa, Fla. ASC/WNSK, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8621-06-C-6300 PO0067).
