Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari To Pay Four-Day Visit To U.S. (NSI News Source Info) ISLAMABAD - May 3, 2009: Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari will pay a visit to the United States from May 5-8, the Foreign Ministry said on Sunday. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari meets with Shukri Ghanem, chairman of Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC), in Tripoli on May 2, 2009. Zardari, who arrived late on April 30 at the head of a large delegation, is on a three-day visit to the oil-rich North African country and his first to Libya since he became president in September 2008. "The visit will provide an opportunity to strengthen and expand bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States as well as more focused interaction on regional cooperation at the highest level," said a statement released by the Foreign Ministry. The highlights of the visit will be Zardari's first official interaction with President Barack Obama and participation in the trilateral summit along with President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan, said the statement. Zardari's engagements would also include meetings with Vice President Joseph Biden, Senator John Kerry, Secretaries Hillary Clinton and Robert Gates, Special Representative Richard Holbrooke and members of the Senate and the House, it said.
