(NSI News Source Info) SRINAGAR, India- February 13, 2010: Islamic militant groups have been fighting since 1989 for the region's independence or its merger with Muslim Pakistan. The Pakistan had for a long period fostered militants in different banners to fight their proxy war in Indian Kashmir and supported Taliban reinforcements in Afghanistan to maintain hold on the regions.
