(NSI News Source Info) WASHINGTON - December 15, 2010: U.S. Department of Defense, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public Affairs) Contracts issued December 15, 2010 are undermentioned;

CONTRACTS

AIR FORCE

Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co., Sunnyvale, Calif., was awarded a $1,310,303,131 contract modification which will provide for the production of the fourth Advanced Extremely High Frequency Satellite Vehicle 4 (SV4). In addition to delivery of the space vehicle, this effort includes SV4 unique systems engineering; system level factory test; system database management functions; systems level support equipment; and program management. At this time, $1,236,420,100 has been obligated. SMC/PKI, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (FO4701-02-C-0002; PO0448).

Boeing Co., Long Beach, Calif., was awarded a $258,335,790 contract modification which will exercise fiscal 2011 Quarter II option contract line items in the basic C-17 Globemaster III sustainment partnership contract which provides total system support responsibility to Boeing for the C-17 weapon system. At this time, the entire amount has been obligated. WRALC/GRGKA, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., is the contracting activity (FA8614-04-C-2004; PO0537).

The Scitor Corp., El Segundo, Calif., was awarded a $29,940,512 contract which will provide engineering, consulting and technical advisory support services for the Space Based Infrared Systems Directorate. At this time, $1,234,000 has been obligated. SMC/PIK, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (FA8802-11-F-3013).

DPL Energy Resources was awarded a $10,245,433 contract modification which will provide and coordinate all electrical generation and transmission to the designated point of delivery at Wright-Patterson Air Force base, Ohio. At this time, no funds have been obligated. ASC/PKOBA, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8601-07-C-0013; PO0004).

NAVY

Baldi Bros., Inc.*, Beaumont, Calif., is being awarded $27,412,453 for firm-fixed-price task order #0007 under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N62473-09-D-1603) for construction of an in-line fueling station and apron and aircraft parking apron modification at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. The work includes the addition of new aircraft direct fueling stations, modifications to the existing aircraft parking aprons, and incidental related work including, but not limited to, the following: provide four new aircraft fueling lanes with eight pantograph fueling stations with associated site work and aircraft pavement; provide new fuel transfer piping to and from the new fueling stations with cathodic protection system; demolish existing underground fuel storage tank and associated piping and appurtences; demolish approximately 41,000 square meters of aircraft pavement, including a retaining wall, and replace with new pavement remove existing joint sealant on aircraft pavement, and provide new, remove existing aircraft pavement striping; and provide striping as needed for aircraft parking layout. Work will be performed in Miramar, Calif., and is expected to be completed by December 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Four proposals were received for this task order. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southwest, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.

Force Protection Industries, Inc., Ladson, S.C., is being awarded a $13,436,254 firm-fixed-price modification under previously awarded contract (M67854-07-D-5031) for 87 field service representatives for operations at the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) support facility in support of the MRAP vehicle fleet. Work will be performed in Kuwait and is expected to be completed June 30, 2011. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity.

The MathWorks, Inc., Natick, Mass., is being awarded a $10,000,000 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for MathWorks software products, including MatLab, Simulink, toolboxes, maintenance, training, and consultation. The MathWorks produces software for technical computing and model-based design for use by government engineers, scientists, mathematicians and researchers. Work will be performed in Natick, Mass., and is expected to be completed in December 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, Calif., is the contracting activity (N68936-11-D-0014).

URS-IAP, LLC, Austin, Texas, is being awarded a $7,130,000 cost-plus-award-fee modification to increase the maximum dollar value of task order #0008 under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N62470-06-D-6009) for the design and construction of a dining facility with installation of all required furniture, fixtures and equipment at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. After award of this modification, the total cumulative task order value will be $46,984,493. Work will be performed in Djibouti, Africa, and is expected to be completed by November 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Europe Africa Southwest Asia, Naples, Italy, is the contracting activity.

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Caterpillar, Inc., Mossville, Ill., is being awarded a maximum $22,938,851 fixed-price with economic price adjustment, long term contract for tractor delivery order. There are no other locations of performance. Using service is Army. There were originally two proposals solicited with one response. The date of performance completion is Sept.30, 2011. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SPM500-01-D-0059-0512).

Signal Technology Corp., Keltec Operations, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is being awarded a maximum $14,238,144 firm-fixed-price, sole-source contract for high voltage modules. There are no other locations of performance. Using service is Navy. There was originally one proposal solicited with one response. The date of performance completion is June 2013. The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SPRPA1-11-C-U001).

ARMY

Broadmoor Pittman, JV, Metairie, La., was awarded on Dec. 10 a $20,340,000 firm-fixed-price contract. The award will provide for the construction of Building 449 redundant pump station at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility at New Orleans, La. Work will be complete in New Orleans, La., with an estimated completion date of Dec. 19, 2012. The bid was solicited over the Internet and six bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, Mobile, Ala., is the contracting activity (W91278-11-C-0005).

General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, Burlington, Vt., was awarded on Dec. 13 a $14,910,313 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. The award will provide engineering services in support of the Hydra-70 2.75-inch rocket program and safety assessment reports for fiscal 2011-2013. Work will be completed in Burlington, Vt., and Camden, Ark., with an estimated completion date of Sep. 30, 2013. One bid was solicited and one bid was received. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, AMCOM Contracting Center, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (W31P4Q-11-C-0085).

EADS North American Defense, Arlington, Va., was awarded on Dec. 13 a $9,895,928 firm-fixed-price contract. This award will provide for the retrofitting of 28 ARC-231 airborne communication systems. Work will be completed in Columbus, Miss., with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2011. One bid was solicited and one bid was received. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (W58RGZ-06-C-0194).

American Manufactured Structures & Services, Vienna, Va., was awarded on Dec. 13 a $9,576,404 firm-fixed-price contract. This award will provide for the supply, delivery and installation of a prefabricated building at U.S. Army Garrison, Yongsan, South Korea. Work will be completed in Vienna, Va., and Yongsan Garrison, South Korea, with an estimated completion date of Aug. 31, 2011. Twelve bids were solicited and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pacific Ocean Division, Far East Korea, Korea, is the contracting activity (W912UM-11-C-0004).

Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, Calif., was awarded on Dec. 13 a $9,362,839 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. This award will provide for logistical, security, project and integration support to the program manager for chemical stockpile elimination field office at Pine Bluff, Ark. Work will be completed in Abingdon, Md., with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2011. One bid was solicited and one bid was received. The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Edgewood Contracting Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., is the contracting activity (W911SR-07-D-0001).

Aquaterra-Cayo, JV, Cleburne, Texas, was awarded on Dec. 13 an $8,397,971 firm-fixed-price contract. This award will provide construction support for “Westbank and Vicinity, New Orleans, La., Hurricane Protection Project, WBV-14-J, Westwego to Harvey Utility Crossing and Miscellaneous Sector Gate Retrofits, Jefferson Parish, La.” Work will be completed in Harvey, La., with an estimated completion date of July 14, 2011. Eleven bids were solicited and five bids were received. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, New Orleans District, New Orleans, La., is the contracting activity (W912P8-09-D-0047).
