(NSI News Source Info) WASHINGTON - March 9, 2011: U.S. Department of Defense, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public Affairs) Contracts issued March 8, 2011 are undermentioned;

CONTRACTS

MISSILE DEFENSE AGENCY

This is a contract award notice for the Missile Defense Agency’s Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile Target class to Orbital Sciences Corp. This award is for the manufacture of intermediate range ballistic missile targets, associated objects, and integrated logistics support to include inventory storage and maintenance management, pre- and post-mission analysis, launch preparation and execution, engineering services, and modeling and simulation support. The award is for complete “tip to tail” targets under contract number HQ0147-11-C-0006. The contract will be firm-fixed-price with provisions for fixed-price incentive, cost-plus-award-fee, cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and cost-reimbursement. The total value of the contract is $1,100,000,000 if all options are exercised. The total value of the base award is $217,080,944. The total contract period of performance is from March 2011 to January 2018. Major subcontractors for this effort are Honeywell and ATK Aerospace Systems Group.

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Agfn Healthcare, Ridgefield Park, N.J., is being awarded a maximum $120,000,000 fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract for digital imaging network-picture archive communication system. There are no other locations of performance. Using services are Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies. The maximum dollar amount is for base year only. The original proposal was Web-solicited with 10 responses. The date of performance completion is March 7, 2013. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SPM2D1-11-D-8303).

Weinbrenner Shoe Co.*, Merrill, Wis., is being awarded a maximum $9,819,429 firm-fixed-price contract for steel toe, hot weather boots. There are no other locations of performance. Using services are Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. The original proposal was Web-solicited with one response. This contract is exercising the fourth option year. The date of performance completion is March 7, 2012. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SPM1C1-08-D-1040).

Elwyn Industries, Aston, Pa., is being awarded a maximum $7,525,935 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for bandages. Other location of performance is Delaware. Using service is depot stock. This contract has a base year with four one-year option periods. The date of performance completion is March 8, 2012. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (SPM2DS-11-D-N001).

AIR FORCE

Jacobs Technology, Inc., Tullahoma, Tenn., is being awarded a $52,097,264 cost-plus-award-fee, cost-reimbursement, firm-fixed-price contract for acquiring three years basic, and one two-year option, of contractor support to provide operational support required by the Air Force Research Laboratory for design, construction, reconfiguration, modification, test operations and maintenance of experimental and support facilities used to perform research and development of rocket propulsion, space systems and their components under the Research Operations Support Services Contract. Work will be performed the Air Force Research Laboratory at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. Contract funds in the amount of $1,659,232 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Bids were solicited electronically and one was received. AFFTC/PKTB, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (FA9300-11-C-0001).

NAVY

BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair, Inc., Norfolk, Va., is being awarded a $15,974,662 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-11-C-2314) to exercise options for the USS Gravely (DDG 107) post shakedown availability. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by September 2011. Contract funds in the amount of $3,194,932 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
